Former Celtic manager Ronny Deila admits that he cannot pull off the same stunt again after it was revealed that he stripped down in a team meeting to motivate his Valerenga players ahead of a crucial game last month.

Deila, who won the league title in Scotland twice with Celtic, has been in charge of Valerenga since January this year and the club are currently tenth in the league table.

After a slow start to the season, Valerenga hosted SK Brann at home on 24th September and it has been revealed that the 42-year-old pulled off an innovative stunt to motivate his players.

Deila stripped naked in the dressing room ahead of the game to get his players up for the game and the bizarre idea worked as they recorded a 2-1 home win.

Valerenga’s Herman Stengel admits that his manager’s unusual trick worked as they went on to win the game.

He was quoted as saying by Spox: “I don’t know whether it was nice, but it worked.”

Deila has sheepishly admitted that he will not be pulling off the same trick too many times as the shock value will not remain the same

He said: “I cannot do this every time; otherwise the surprise will be gone.”
