Pierre-Michel Lassoga has been criticised by former Leeds United forward Noel Whelan for his display in the Whites' 1-0 loss at home against Reading.

The German started his Leeds career in fine form, but has struggled along with the rest of the side as the Whites' form has slumped, with the loss to the Royals being their fourth in the last five league games.

Leeds boss Thomas Christiansen started the on-loan striker, but pulled him off after 77 minutes as the home side looked to make the breakthrough; they ultimately conceded in the 84th minute.

Whelan thought that Lasogga produced a performance which had no energy about it, with the German looking slow.

"He looked heavy, he looked leggy, he looked slow", Whelan said on BBC Radio Leeds.

However, Whelan does not think the rest of the team produced a display with much more energy than the German.

"But the whole team looked tired and lethargic.

"No energy about them and no inventiveness when they got into that final third", he added.

Lasogga's last goal came in Leeds' last league win, over Ipswich Town last month.

The German, on loan from Hamburg, has been charged with replacing Chris Wood.
