Pedro Caixinha believes Rangers have fans befitting their status as the world's most successful club.

The Portuguese led the Gers to a comfortable 3-0 win away at St Johnstone on Friday night and, despite the game being an evening kick-off on a week night and being carried live on TV, Rangers again had impressive travelling support.

Caixinha was not surprised and believes that Rangers status as a club mirrors the fans they have.

And he feels the supporters fully deserved the performance that the Gers put on at McDiarmid Park against Tommy Wright's men, who were beaten by goals from Carlos Pena (two) and Graham Dorrans.

"This is such a massive club, and this is the club with more titles in the world, so it needs to have and has the best supporters in the world", Caixinha said on Rangers TV.

"They go and they follow us everywhere, and they support us from the beginning until the end, and they deserve the team playing like this to please them.

"We need to have this relationship between the supporters and the team, and when things go like that, then everything is going in the right direction", the former Santos Laguna boss added.

Rangers' players are currently in the midst of a three-day break following their win on Friday night, with Caxinha having used the time to return to his native Portugal to soak up some sun.

The Gers are due back in for training on Tuesday.
