Premier League giants Arsenal have made contact with Barcelona attacker Arda Turan's agents and a possible January move could be on the cards, according to CNN Turk.

The Gunners are looking to add to their squad after a number of exits in the summer, including that of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who left for Liverpool for a fee in the region of £35m.

Yet another attacker and Arsenal's main man in recent years, Alexis Sanchez, has also been linked with a move to Manchester City, in spite of the Gunners refusing to sell him in the summer.

And Wenger may feel that out-of-favour Barcelona man Turan could help ease his woes if Arsenal can strike a deal with the Catalan giants in the January transfer window.

It is claimed that Turan's club are open to a potential sale, while the Turkish international would also be interested in exploring the possibility.

A return to Turkey has also been mooted, with his boyhood club Galatasaray showing keenness in taking him back to where he started his career.

Turan is out of favour with Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde and the situation is claimed to be unlikely to change before the new year.
