Perr Schuurs' father has left the door open for his 17-year-old on to move on from Fortuna Sittard, despite the Bayern Munich and Liverpool admired centre-back signing a new contract.

Fortuna Sittard have been worried about losing Schuurs, who is already the club captain, with the defender having trained under the watchful eye of Steven Gerrard at Liverpool, along with being on the radar of Ajax, Bayern Munich and PSV Eindhoven.

Now Schuurs is under contract with the Dutch second tier club unti 2020, but his father Lambert Schuurs insists that the contract does not mean the door is closed to an exit before that year.

Lambert feels that interested clubs could still make an offer Fortuna Sittard would be unable to refuse.

"In six months or a year, a club could come up with a proposal that you cannot really refuse", Lambert told De Limburger, before stressing signing the new deal however is a sign that Perr is happy at the club.

"So [the contract means] that what it's going to be is calmer.

"At Fortuna, they can really play.

"This is not a young team or an under-23 team.

"Perr has a leading role as captain.

"What he can learn here, he cannot learn anywhere else.

"In addition, if he goes somewhere, he must go in as a big guy and not like a boy.

"And do not forget, Perr is only 17.

"He has a long career ahead of him."

Schuurs has made seven appearances in the Dutch second tier for Fortuna Sittard so far this season, chipping in with three goals and even providing two assists for his team-mates.
