Jurgen Klopp is keen to convince Emre Can to sign a new contract without a release clause despite the player insisting on having such a mechanism to leave Anfield in future.

The Germany midfielder’s current deal will run out at the end of the season and he is yet to commit to a fresh terms, which is a huge cause for concern for Liverpool.

Juventus have been keeping tabs on the 23-year-old and are convinced that he will not sign a new deal, something that would allow the Bianconeri to snap him on a free transfer next summer.

Liverpool have been trying to convince the player to sign a new deal, but according to Italian outlet Calciomercato.com, Can wants a release clause of around €30m to €35m in any new contract.

The German is believed to be keen to make sure that there are no prolonged transfer sagas if he decides to leave.

However, it has been claimed Klopp is in no mood to adhere to the midfielder’s demands and is insisting on Can signing a new contract without the existence of a buyout clause.

Klopp is confident that he will be able to convince the 23-year-old to agree to the club’s terms and put pen to paper on a new deal in the upcoming months.

But Juventus are confident that Can will not extend his deal with Liverpool and they will be free to open negotiations over a pre-contract with the player in January.
