Steven Thompson thinks Kenny Miller may need Pedro Caixinha to leave Rangers before he can play for the club again.

Miller recently had a falling out with Caixinha and was dropped to the Under-20s, being frozen out of the Rangers first team.

However, bridges have been built between the two and Miller has been back in training and under consideration for first team action again.

The veteran striker had been expected to be involved last Friday when Rangers headed to face St Johnstone in a Scottish Premiership fixture – but Miller did not travel.

Former Rangers striker Thompson does feel that Miller will pull a Rangers shirt on again, but says he may need to wait for Caixinha to go in order to do it.

"Yes I do", Thompson said when asked if he thinks Miller will play for Rangers again, on BBC Sport Scotland Facebook Live.

"But it might be under a different manager."

Now 37 years old, Miller has made a total of 250 appearances for Rangers during his different stints at the club, scoring 100 goals in the process and providing 56 assists.

Hugely experienced in the Scottish top flight, 155 of his appearances have come in Scotland's top division.
