Leicester City caretaker manager Michael Appleton believes that Leeds United appear to be very much like a Premier League side when they play away from home because of their massive fan following.

The Foxes are scheduled to host the Championship side at the King Power Stadium in the EFL Cup on Tuesday night as they look to make their way to the next round.

But Leicester are not expecting an easy game against the team from a division lower, with Appleton insisting that he expects the atmosphere to be made electric by the massive fan following coming from Leeds.

"Leeds are the type of club where you come into cup competitions and it almost feels like they're a Premier League side anyway because of the following that they'll probably bring on Tuesday", Appleton told his club's official website.

What will be even more challenging for the caretaker boss will be the fact that the Peacocks head into the match having won their last match in the league 3-0 away from home against Bristol City, meaning their confidence is high.

"They've had a fantastic win away from home.

"So they're going to be buoyant.

"It's an opportunity for both sides to progress into the last eight which is a big thing for the football club."

Leicester will have confidence of their own to boast of having won their last match themselves in the league against Swansea City.
