Kilmarnock defender Kirk Broadfoot has explained that his side will be looking to frustrate Rangers and claim a positive result at Ibrox on Wednesday.

Killie, who won their first Scottish Premiership game of the season by beating Partick Thistle 2-0 at the weekend, are currently 11th in the table with just six points from nine games.

On the other hand, Rangers find themselves third in the standings with 17 points, six adrift of leaders Celtic.

And Broadfoot, who previously played for Rangers between 2007 and 2012, insisted that although the Gers are the favourites at Ibrox, Kilmarnock will try to frustrate the Scottish giants and return home with at least a point.

“Rangers are at home and they’re going to be the favourites”, he said in his pre-match press conference on Monday.

“They’re a top side and it’s going to be a hard game.

“We just need to take our game plan and hopefully frustrate them and get a result.”

Rangers, who are unbeaten in their last six outings in all competition against Kilmarnock, will head into Wednesday’s game on the back of a disappointing 2-0 loss against Motherwell in the semi-finals of the Scottish League Cup on Sunday.
