Everton loanee Henry Onyekuru is keen to focus on his performances at Anderlecht, but has not ruled out leaving the Belgian giants in January.

The Merseyside club signed the Nigerian forward from Eupen in the summer amidst intense competition and immediately loaned him out to Anderlecht.

The 20-year-old has done well during his stay with Anderlecht and has netted six league goals in eleven appearances, leading to speculation over his future at the club beyond the winter window.

Onyekuru recently admitted that he would like to join Everton in January, but has indicated that is not going to happen because he is yet to qualify to obtain a work permit in England.

The forward remains focused on doing well for Anderlecht but has refused to rule out the possibility of leaving the club in the January transfer window.

Onyekuru told Het Laatste Nieuws: “I don’t have a work permit to play in England but everything is going in the right direction.

“Anderlecht were the right choice for me but what happens in the market, we’ll see about that.

“I have never said that I want to leave Anderlecht in the winter. Maybe there are clubs interested in me, but my focus is on Anderlecht.

“Everything is possible in football and I am owned by Everton but I am not saying that I will be staying or leaving.”

Onyekuru made his debut for Nigeria earlier this year and is hopeful that he will be playing in the World Cup next summer in Russia.

“If everything goes well, I will be there at the World Cup.

“For my career it is important but it’s not in my hands.”
