Jurgen Klopp has emerged as a candidate to become Bayern Munich coach at the end of the season.

Jupp Heynckes will leave the Bavarians next summer despite the positive turn in their form since he took charge of the club earlier in the season after Bayern Munich sacked Carlo Ancelotti.

Bayern Munich have been canvassing a long term coaching appointment for next summer and a number of high profile names are on their shortlist of targets.

And according to German magazine Sport Bild, Klopp is one of the names who are on Bayern Munich’s shortlist and they could make a move for him at the end of the season.

The former Borussia Dortmund boss signed a new six-year contract with Liverpool last year, but the Reds have struggled to emerge as title contenders this season under him.

While he retains considerable support on the terraces and in the club board room, there are increasing question marks over his ability to shape a defence despite having four full transfer windows to make signings.

And it has been claimed with the Bayern Munich job on the cards next year, Klopp could opt to back his bags in Merseyside early and move back to Germany.

It has also been suggested that Klopp has several admirers at Bayern Munich and he could be a feasible candidate if the German is prepared to move to the Allianz Arena.

Bayern Munich have also been in talks with another former Dortmund coach in Thomas Tuchel to become their next permanent appointment.
