Rangers full-back Declan John, who has experience of playing in the Premier League, has revealed that he finds the atmosphere at Ibrox top notch.

The 22-year-old joined Rangers from Cardiff City on a season-long loan deal last summer and has been in good form for the Gers.

John played in the Premier League in the 2013/14 campaign, when the Bluebirds gained promotion to the top tier of English football.

The defender, who made 20 league appearances that season, said that the atmosphere during Cardiff City’s home Premier League games was superb.

However, John was quick to insist that he has been very impressed with the atmosphere at Ibrox, which he thinks is of the highest quality.

“Obviously Cardiff went up to the Premier League at that time and the atmosphere of the home games was pretty good”, he said on Rangers TV, when asked how does playing at Ibrox compare to playing in the Premier League.

“But obviously the atmosphere up here which I’ve been involved in and I’ve been seeing from some of the games has really been top notch.”

John further went on to add that he feels playing in front of big crowds at Ibrox can only be good for him.

“I think if you have played in front of big crowds, it’s only going to be good for you going forward”, he continued.

“Especially in the home games you get 50,000 plus people coming to watch you play.

“It’s only going to be good for you as a player.”

Although John is currently on loan at Rangers, Leeds United and Reading are interested in signing him and Cardiff City could look to sell him in January as the defender is into the final year of his contract at the Welsh club.
