Nantes striker Emiliano Sala has rejected a proposal to join Premier League outfit Brighton in the January transfer window.

Following a good start to the season, Brighton have hit a poor patch of form and are just three points above the relegation zone at the moment in the Premier League table.

Chris Houghton’s side have earned praise for their performance in their first season in the Premier League, but the Brighton boss is aware that he needs reinforcements to keep his club afloat in the top tier at the end of the campaign.

And adding a goalscorer to the squad has been the club’s key goal in the winter window and they have been probing a number of players across Europe at the moment.

However, it seems they have already faced rejection from one of their targets as according to French sports daily L’Equipe, Nantes striker Sala knocked back an offer to move to Brighton recently.
