Rangers boss Graeme Murty has revealed that the Gers could make more signings in the ongoing transfer window.

The Light Blues, who completed the signing of Russell Martin on loan from Norwich City on Tuesday, have been active this month.

Martin is Rangers’ fourth signing in the January transfer window, with the defender following Sean Gross, Jamie Murphy and Jason Cummings into Ibrox.

The Scottish giants, who are currently third in the league table with 40 points from 22 games, three behind second-placed Aberdeen and 11 adrift of leaders Celtic, put forward a bid to sign Kilmarnock’s Jordan Jones on Monday, but their offer was rejected by Killie.

But Murty explained that Rangers could make further additions to their squad before the transfer window slams shut on 31st January.

“By the end of the window, maybe”, he told Rangers TV, when asked if the Gers are expecting to sign more players by the end of this week.

“Things are ongoing and always ongoing in a transfer window.

“It’s a really, really busy time and I expect people to come and enquire about some of our players and I expect to enquire about other players.

“But, I obviously don’t think it’s right to talk about them until it’s done.

“Business is going on behind the scenes and work is being done.

“Talks and conversations are being had at a high level.

“It’s all to the good and it’s so I have as much of a headache as possible come selection time.”

Murty went on to add that he is relishing the additional responsibility of being involved in the transfer happenings.

“It is a responsibility I don’t think I was ready for”, he continued.

“But, looking at it now, I think it is one any manager would relish and should relish.

“We can move forward and we can be better than we were.”
