Serie A strugglers Benevento are looking at snapping up Leicester City defender Yohan Benalouane on transfer deadline day.

Benevento are desperate to land a quality centre-back and have been linked with a number of options, including Rangers defender Bruno Alves.

Now, according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, they are zeroing in on 30-year-old Leicester centre-back Benalouane.

With the clock ticking down on the transfer window, Benevento will need to work quickly if they are to take the Foxes defender to Italy.

Benevento currently sit bottom of the Serie A standings with just seven points from 22 games, but are eyeing an ambitious survival bid as they look to make up ground; they are 12 points from safety.
