Former Hibernian forward Tam McManus is of the opinion that Rangers will part ways with Graeme Murty if the Gers do not finish second in the league and win the Scottish Cup this season.

Rangers, who appointed Murty as their caretaker manager after Pedro Caixinha was sacked last October, announced in late December that the 43-year-old will remain as the manager of the club until the end of the season.

The Scottish giants have fared well under Murty’s guidance, with the Light Blues currently being in second spot in the league table, despite losing 3-2 to leaders Celtic last weekend.

In addition, Rangers have also managed to reach the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup, where they will face Celtic at Hampden next month.

But McManus believes Rangers will not stick with Murty if he does not guide the club to a second place finish in the league and a Scottish Cup triumph.

“Needs to beat Celtic in semi-final/win Scottish Cup and finish second in league or 100% won’t be the Rangers manager next season for me”, he tweeted, while sharing an article questioning Murty’s future.

“Blew a golden chance on Sunday but [he] gets another crack at Hampden.”

Rangers are next up against Kilmarnock at Ibrox on Saturday.
