Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes has admitted he wants Liverpool to knock Manchester City out of the Champions League this evening.

Jurgen Klopp's men thrashed Manchester City 3-0 in the first leg at Anfield to put themselves in pole position to win the quarter-final tie and advance to the semi-finals.

They could meet heavyweights such as Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Barcelona in the last four and Heynckes admits that he wants Klopp's Liverpool to book a semi-final spot.

He told a press conference ahead of Bayern Munich's second leg against Sevilla on Wednesday night, in which the Germans start 2-1 ahead: "I would like Jurgen Klopp, with his Liverpool team, to make it to the semi-finals."

Klopp has been linked with succeeding Heynckes, who will leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season, at the Allianz Arena.
