Leeds United expect Victor Orta to be in post as director of football for the summer transfer window.

It has been claimed in Spain that Orta could be in line to become the new director of football at La Liga club Deportivo La Coruna.

The Spaniard is key to Leeds' transfer business and oversaw the club's arrivals and departures in the transfer windows last summer and in January.

But while Orta does have connections in the Galicia region of Spain, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds expect him to be in his post when the summer transfer window opens.

Despite much criticism of his work at Leeds, Orta has continued to retain the faith of owner Andrea Radrizzani, who has shown no appetite for showing him the door.

As such the club are expecting Orta to again oversee their transfer business in the summer window, with the Whites expected to wheel and deal due to a number of players on long term contracts.

Deportivo La Coruna may also not be able to offer Orta the temptation of working in Spain's top flight, with the club in the relegation zone in La Liga and effectively nine points from safety with just seven games left to play.
