Swansea City first team coach Bruno Lage is amongst the favourites to take charge of Benfica's B team.

Benfica are looking for a successor to current B team coach Helder Cristovao, who has confirmed that he will depart the post at the end of the season.

Carlos Carvahal took Lage to Swansea when he took over at the Liberty Stadium earlier this season and the 41-year-old was given the job of first team coach.

Lage is amongst the favourites to take over Benfica's B team, according to Portuguese daily A Bola, meaning Carvahal may soon be looking for a replacement.

The Swansea first team coach was at Benfica from 2004 until 2012, during which time he held a number of coaching positions in the youth ranks.

Benfica have not yet fully settled on who they want to take charge of the B team though, meaning Lage, though amongst the favourites, is not guaranteed the job.

But Lage led Benfica's youth teams to success in the Portugal Under-15 and Portugal Under-17 national championships, in 2009 and 2011, and is highly regarded at the Estadio da Luz.
