Celtic are prepared to make Hull City striker Abel Hernandez the highest paid player in Scotland in order to take him to Paradise in the summer transfer window.

The 27-year-old has scored four league goals since returning to the Hull squad following recovering from a serious knee injury last month and has put himself in the shop window ahead of the summer.

He will be available on a free transfer at the end of the season and the former Palermo striker has suitors in Italy, with Fiorentina and Sampdoria interested in signing him.

However, Hernandez could be off to Scotland in the summer, as according to Italian outlet Calciomercato.it, Celtic are prepared to push the boat out to land the Uruguayan ahead of next season.

With Moussa Dembele’s future uncertain at the club, Brendan Rodgers wants to sign a proven striker and the Hull hitman is at the top of the Celtic manager’s wish list.
