Edin Dzeko’s agent believes his client’s decision to reject Chelsea has turned out to be a smart one following Roma’s passage to the Champions League semi-finals.

Chelsea wanted to sign the striker during the January window, but the Blues could not agree the terms of a contract with the player, who wanted a lengthier deal than he was being offered.

Antonio Conte’s team signed Olivier Giroud from Arsenal as a replacement for Michy Batshuayi, but Dzeko’s decision to reject a move back to England has had an effect on the season for both the Blues and Roma.

While Chelsea have continued to falter in the Premier League, the Montenegrin has played a key role in Roma reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League, shocking Barcelona on their way.

And Irfan Redzepagic, the player’s agent, admits that the decision has turned to be a great one for Roma and Dzeko.
