Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Davinson Sanchez insists that he and his team will approach tonight's Premier League game against Manchester City as if the Citizens have won their last three matches.

The Londoners, placed fourth in the league table, will take on Pep Guardiola's side in a league match at Wembley, in a fixture that could have significant impact on the finishing positions of the top four this season.

While the hosts for Saturday have won seven of their last nine in the league, the visitors have lost three games in a row, including two in the Champions League against Liverpool, which saw them knocked out of the tournament.

Sanchez though believes that it is going to be a tough game for Spurs and one they cannot afford to take lightly. In spite of Manchester City's current run of form the 21-year-old believes that Spurs have to go into the game believing that the Sky Blues have won all their last three games.

“We’re always ready to accept big challenges", Sanchez told his club's official website.

"We always respect our opponents and even though they’ve lost their last three games they are a good side full of great characters and we’ll approach this game as if they have just won their last three.

"That’s how we go into games like Manchester City.

“We have to focus on the fact that we’re at home, we’ve got to try to get the three points and the key is to keep this winning run.

"The immediate target is to finish in the top four, the three points will make that easier, but why not have in our minds that we can be fighting for second place as well?”
