The Belgian FA are set to seek permission from Chelsea to allow Michy Batshuayi to continue his recovery from injury with the Belgium national team’s medical section.

Batshuayi’s season ended at the weekend when he suffered an ankle injury while in action for Borussia Dortmund, the club who joined in January from Chelsea on a loan deal.

There were fears that he broke his ankle in Germany, but it has been claimed he has suffered ankle ligament damages and will be out for four to six weeks.

According to Belgian daily Het Laatste Nieuws, the striker is scheduled to report to Chelsea for further tests on his ankle as the club look to conduct their own reviews of the extent of damage.

Under normal circumstances, Batshuayi would have been under the supervision of the Chelsea medical team while he recovered, but with the World Cup in mind, Belgium are set to make a specific request to the club.
