Atletico Madrid have a non-binding agreement in place with Anderlecht to sign West Ham target Leander Dendoncker in the summer.

The midfielder has been keen to leave Anderlecht since last summer and West Ham were interested in signing him in the winter window, but an agreement never saw the light of day.

The Belgian wants to leave at the end of the season and West Ham are keen, but they could face a major hurdle in the form of Atletico Madrid on their way towards signing the midfielder.

According to Belgian daily Het Laatste Nieuws, the Spanish giants have entered into a commitment with Anderlecht to sign Dendoncker during the upcoming transfer window.

While the agreement is non-binding, Atletico Madrid have already agreed to fork out a €20m transfer fee if they go ahead with a move for the Belgian international in the summer.

Atletico Madrid could refuse to sign Dendoncker and Anderlecht are also free to field offers from other clubs for the midfielder as long as they keep the Spaniards informed.

It has been claimed the agreement was not the reason behind Anderlecht refusing to sell Dendoncker to West Ham in January.

It remains to be seen whether Atletico Madrid agree to sign Dendoncker in the summer from Anderlecht.
