Lazio have agreed the outlines of a deal with the agent of Tottenham Hotspur midfield target Bryan Cristante ahead of the summer window.

Atalanta signed the midfielder from Benfica last summer on a season-long loan deal and are set to take up the option of signing him on a permanent contract at the end of the season.

However, there are suggestions that his future lies away from Atalanta as the Serie A club are plotting to auction off the midfielder in the summer window as more clubs show interest in the player.

West Ham have been linked with an interest in the Italian and even Tottenham are understood to be keen on taking him to the Premier League at the end of the season.

However, there is strong interest from Serie A clubs in the Atalanta midfielder and according to Italian daily Il Messaggero, Lazio have already made a move for Cristante to secure his services.

It has been claimed that the Roman club have an agreement in place with his agent over the terms of a contract and will only need to agree a deal with Atalanta in the summer.

There are suggestions Atalanta are looking at a transfer fee north of €30m before they agree to sell the midfielder in the coming months.

Cristante caught the attention of Premier League clubs earlier in the season with his goals and performances against Everton in the Europa League.
