Leeds United boss Paul Heckingbottom has admitted he is a big fan of Barnsley forward Oliver McBurnie, who he feels has proved his talent.

Heckingbottom took McBurnie to Barnsley on a loan deal from Premier League outfit Swansea City in the January transfer window and the forward has had a big impact at Oakwell.

Leeds have recently been linked with wanting to snap McBurnie up in the forthcoming summer transfer window.

And Heckingbottom, who will have to work out how his Leeds defenders can stop McBurnie this weekend when Barnsley visit Elland Road, admits he does rate the forward.

"He’s done what I expected him to do", Heckingbottom told a press conference when asked about McBurnie.

"People know I think he’s a good and he’s proved it.

"He can get in good areas, but his main attribute is scoring goals."

It remains to be seen if Leeds will make a move to try to take McBurnie to Elland Road in the summer transfer window, especially as Heckingbottom is not in charge of transfer business at the club, with that role falling to director of football Victor Orta.
