Leeds United director of football Victor Orta has rejected an approach from La Liga club Deportivo La Coruna and will stay at Elland Road.

The Spanish deal-maker has increasingly been linked with leaving Leeds for Deportivo, who are searching for a new sporting director.

It was even claimed in some quarters that Orta is poised to quit Elland Road at the end of the season and head back to Spain with Deportivo.

But according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Orta has rejected an approach from Deportivo.

The Spanish side approached Orta last week, but the Whites director of football informed the club that he intends to stay at Elland Road.

Deportivo have now turned their attention elsewhere and are set to appoint Carmelo del Pozo to the sporting director role.

Orta's work on transfers has been heavily criticised by a number of Leeds fans throughout the season, but the Spaniard has retained the faith of owner Andrea Radrizzani.

And Orta is now set to go again in the upcoming summer transfer window.
