Michel Vorm believes Tottenham Hotspur just need time to take the final step when it comes to winning silverware.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino named Vorm between the sticks for Saturday's FA Cup semi-final tie against Manchester United at Wembley, with Hugo Lloris on the bench.

Tottenham did take the lead, but were pegged back by the Red Devils, who then went ahead in the second half and closed the door on any Spurs' comeback hopes.

Pochettino has been criticised for failing to win trophies during his time in north London, while Spurs as a team have been accused by some of being chokers.

Vorm admits that falling short hurts, but feels Tottenham just need a little more time to get over the line.

"I think if you see in the dressing room, it's a mess", Vorm was quoted as saying by beIN Sports.

"It sounds a bit cliched maybe, but we need to learn from this as well and I still believe that there's so much more to come for us.

"It just takes time. At the moment, it's hard to believe, but we need to keep on going, keep on pushing, working and learning from these kinds of games.

"Because at the end it's about reaching these finals and trying to win something.

"I definitely believe that we can do better than this with this group."

Despite their FA Cup exit, Spurs still look set to end the season on a positive note by securing Champions League football for next season.
