Borussia Dortmund have moved into pole position to beat Everton to the signature of Nantes talent Kamal Bafounta.

The 16-year-old is free to leave Nantes at the end of the season and a host of clubs have been lining up in an attempt to win the race for his signature.

Everton are keen on Bafounta, but according to France Football, Dortmund are now firmly in pole position to snap up the France Under-16 international.

Dortmund rolled out the red carpet for the youngster's family to visit their facilities last weekend and worked to sell a move to the club.

Nantes have not given up hope of keeping hold of Bafounta, but are aware it will be tough given the level of interest in him.

Inter are also on the midfielder's trail and in some quarters Bafounta has been dubbed the new Paul Pogba, in a nod to how highly rated he is.
