Chelsea defensive target Kalidou Koulibaly has so far refused to entertain any offers for a transfer, but he could leave Napoli in the summer for a stipulated figure.

The 26-year-old centre-back has emerged as one of top defenders over the last few seasons and was on Chelsea’s radar when Antonio Conte took charge in the summer of 2016.

Koulibaly signed a new and improved five-year deal in 2016 and despite interest from Chelsea again ahead of the end of the season, the defender has rejected any overtures.

The centre-back scored the late winner against Juventus at the weekend to throw the Serie A title race wide open and for the moment wants to concentrate on Napoli’s end of the season.

The defender and his agent have kept his suitors at bay, but according to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, there is a distinct possibility that the Senegalese could leave Napoli in the summer.

There are suggestions there is an understanding between the player and the club that Napoli will listen to offers of around €70m or more for him if his suitors come calling.

While the defender and his representative are unwilling to discuss a move now, Koulibaly could be more open to a transfer once the summer window opens.
