Rangers academy coach Billy Kirkwood has lauded Jordan Rossiter's performance for the development squad in their 6-0 win away at Leicester City.

The Gers have opted out of playing in the development league this season and have created a games programme, testing the youngsters against youth sides at a number of European clubs.

They simply tore Leicester apart and Kirkwood was hugely pleased with the performance of Rossiter, whose Rangers career has been ruined by injuries since he landed at the club from Liverpool.

Kirkwood thinks that Rossiter added real maturity, which rubbed off on the youngsters as Rangers turned in their best performance of the season.

"To win 6-0, they were absolutely outstanding and by far, that is the best they have been all season", Kirkwood told the club's official site.

And he added, hailing Rossiter: "I have got to say too, Jordan Rossiter completed 90 minutes, is hopefully injury-free and he put in a fantastic performance.

"The way he goes about his business is second to none and our lads react to that in a real positive manner."

Rossiter has managed just four senior team appearances for Rangers across the course of the season, amounting to only 197 minutes of football.

It remains to be seen if he can put himself in line to feature before the end of the season.
