Arsenal managerial target Lucien Favre would favour a move to Borussia Dortmund over an offer from the north London club.

The 60-year-old’s work at Nice has been lauded by many in Europe and he is on the shortlist of a number of clubs as they approach the summer in search of a new coach.

Dortmund have zeroed in on Favre as the replacement for Peter Stoger and have already been in talks with his representatives over taking the Swiss to the Westfalenstadion ahead of next season.

However, they could face competition from Arsenal, who are also on the lookout for a new manager to replace Arsene Wenger and Favre features prominently on their shortlist too.

But Dortmund have the advantage over the north Londoners, as according to German magazine Sport Bild, the experienced Swiss coach would favour a move back to Germany with BVB over taking up an offer from Arsenal.
