Freiberg have dismissed suggestions that their young defender Caglar Soyuncu is set to join Arsenal and insisted that that they have not received any offers from the Gunners.

The 21-year-old defender’s future at the Bundesliga club has come under the scanner as there is speculation that Arsenal are on the verge of signing him in the summer.

An ex-president of Altinordu Izmir, the defender’s former club, claimed recently that Soyuncu will be joining Arsenal at the end of the season and it is more or less a done deal.

However, Freiberg have dismissed the transfer talk surrounding Soyuncu and stressed that the former president of the Turkish club should not be expected to have any knowledge about the business of the Bundesliga club.

They insisted that the rumours are rubbish and they have not been contacted by Arsenal or received any offer for the 21-year-old centre-back.
