Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is sure of his team's ability and is confident that the Gunners will battle it out for the Premier League trophy next season.

Wenger, who is all set to depart at the end of the season, has identified Arsenal's away form as the main point of concern this season.

He is of the opinion that the Gunners were at their best at home this season, but there was a clear lack of confidence in the side while playing away from home.

The Frenchman, pointing out the importance of a few away wins next season, has hailed the quality and the spirit of his team, which according to him will produce something special in the upcoming season.

Wenger was quoted as saying by the club's official website when asked whether he has any concerns about handing over the current squad to the new manager: “No, I feel that if you look at our season, at home we have had championship-winning form.

“Away from home we have had the consequence of many things: a lack of confidence because of a few bad results, and after that we neglected some games because we were in the Europa League.

“The quality is there, the spirit is exceptional. I think if the team has one or two good away results next year, they will play for the Premier League.

“I’m convinced because there’s something special in that team, which will come out next season. I’m convinced that Arsenal will be one of the top contenders next year.”

Wenger, who has been at the helm of the London-based club since 1996, has guided the Gunners to 695 victories out of the 1,200 matches he has been in charge of so far.
