Leeds United head coach Paul Heckingbottom is confident that the club were able to make some more Whites' fans after their game against the MNL All-Stars in Burma on Wednesday.

The Leeds team lost 2-1 to the MNL All-Stars in front of a crowd of 16,910 in Burma. The All-Stars took the lead in the 22nd minute through Joseph Mpande, a lead which lasted just four minutes as Samu Saiz equalised for the Whites from the penalty spot.

But the Burma-based team had the last laugh in the game as Christopher Chizoba restored their lead after being awarded a spot kick.

The former Barnsley boss is of the opinion that it is a proud feeling that they fielded a young team that hopefully influenced the children in Burma, which according to Heckingbottom, was the main reason for their trip.

He believes that his team were able to influence the people in the stadium and make some more Leeds fans, who got a taste of English football.

Heckingbottom said on LUTV: “Yes it's good. It is something we can be proud of.

"Hopefully we affected some of these people, especially the young kids and that's what really the trip was about for us. we as professionals represent our club.

“Hopefully we can make a difference to people who are here and they have enjoyed their taste of English football and maybe we have made a few more Leeds fans.”

Leeds are now set to start to prepare for the next match of their trip, when they face the Burma national team on 11th May.
