Nottingham Forest are under no pressure to agree to a cut-price deal with Rangers for Jason Cummings, with the Gers having now opened talks on keeping the striker.

Cummings joined Rangers on loan from Forest in the January transfer window and the Gers included an option to keep him on a permanent basis in the summer.

While Rangers could meet the previously agreed sum, it has been claimed in Scotland they want to negotiate the price down.

But according to the Nottingham Post, Forest are under no pressure to let Rangers have Cummings for a lower fee.

The striker signed a three-year deal with Nottingham Forest when he joined from Hibernian last summer and the Championship club could simply choose to keep him if Rangers will not meet their asking price.

And Rangers are now looking to put that potential at Steven Gerrard's disposal for next season.
