Liverpool are facing competition from La Liga club Real Betis for the signature of Barcelona centre-back Yerry Mina.

The Reds have been strongly linked with signing the defender on loan from Barcelona, where he has struggled to make his mark since arriving in the January transfer window earlier this year.

Barcelona have yet to fully decide Mina's future and they could soon be given an option closer to home for the defender.

According to El Decano Deportivo, Real Betis are weighing up asking Barcelona for Mina on loan.

Loaning Mina out within La Liga could be a tempting option for Barcelona, with Real Betis giving the defender further opportunity to hone his skills in Spain.

Real Betis sit in sixth place in La Liga with just one game left to play, but have shipped as many goals as they have scored in their 37 games (58) and would view Mina as a welcome reinforcement for next season.

The Colombian, 23, has made five appearances across all competitions for Barcelona since arriving at the club in January.
