Nantes president Waldemar Kita has indicated that former Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira is on the club’s radar as they look for a new coach.

Claudio Ranieri has departed his post and Nantes have been looking for a successor to the Italian, with a number of names linked with the job.

Former France and Arsenal midfielder Vieira, who has also been linked with the manager’s job with the Gunners, has reportedly been on Nantes’ radar as their possible new coach.

Currently working at New York City FC, the former midfielder could be keen to take up a job in Europe as soon as possible, but is believed to be more keen on managing a Champions League club.

Kita indicated that Vieira is a possible candidate to replace Ranieri, who has parted ways with Nantes.
