Hannover 96 are on the verge of signing Arsenal forward Takuma Asano on a loan deal and an announcement is expected to be made later today.

Asano joined Arsenal in 2016 and was immediately loaned for two years to VfB Stuttgart, but the Japan international played very little football for the Bundesliga outfit this season.

The 23-year-old still does not have a work permit to play for the Gunners and it emerged that Asano is set to continue in Germany, but with another club.

The forward has reportedly agreed terms on a contract with Hannover 96 and the Bundesliga outfit are on the cusp of signing on a season-long loan deal from Arsenal.

According to Germany daily Bild, Hannover are set to announce the loan deal to sign the Japanese international forward from Arsenal by the end of the day.
