Antonio Conte has insisted that Romelu Lukaku being fit or injured will not influence Chelsea’s tactics against Manchester United in the FA Cup final.

Lukaku has returned to training and has travelled with the Manchester United squad for the final after recuperating from an ankle injury, but there are doubts about his availability at Wembley.

Jose Mourinho has stressed he will take a last minute call on playing his highest goalscorer this season as he is still not sure whether the Belgian has recovered completely.

Anthon Martial has been declared fit and Manchester United also have the option of playing Marcus Rashford up front and Conte believes his opponents have enough in reserves to replace Lukaku if he is not fit.

The Chelsea boss also stressed that his tactics for the final are not going to change regardless of whether Lukaku plays or not.

Conte said in a press conference when asked about doubts over Lukaku: “We are talking about an important player, but they have the possibility to pick many important players.

“I don’t know what will be the decision tomorrow, but if he doesn’t play there are great players to replace him.

“We don’t change [tactics] as you don’t change your plan for one player, but for the whole team.

“They have a lot of important players, like Rashford.”

Lukaku, who joined Manchester United from Everton last summer for big money, has netted 27 goals in 50 appearances for the club in all competitions.
