Arsenal and Liverpool target Max Meyer is set to join Bundesliga outfit Hoffenheim on a free transfer.

Meyer's contract at Schalke expires this summer and his free agent status has made him an attractive proposition for a number of clubs.

The midfielder has been consistently linked with Arsenal and Liverpool, amongst other clubs, as it became increasingly clear that he would be leaving Schalke.

But the signs are that Meyer will be continuing his career in the Bundesliga as, according to the Leipziger Volkszeitung, the midfielder has agreed a move to Hoffenheim.

Meyer has been promised a big role in midfield by Hoffenheim and will look to put a disappointing end at Schalke behind him.
