Sunderland loanee Wahbi Khazri has revealed he cannot guarantee he will stay at French club Rennes beyond the end of his loan.

The Tunisia attacker is on loan at Rennes, but is now due to return to Sunderland following the club's final game in Ligue 1, a 1-1 draw at home against Montpellier which secured a fifth place finish.

Rennes are desperate to keep hold of Khazri, who is rated as unlikely to be turning out for Sunderland next season following their relegation to the third tier of English football.

But Khazri cannot guarantee he will stay at Rennes as he knows, with nine goals in Ligue 1, he is a wanted man.

"I am happy with my season at Rennes, I had a lot of fun", Khazri told beIN Sports.

"I will not say that I will stay.

"If there are other offers, I have to study them.

"But it is true that I am not against staying at Rennes with this coach and this team, but I am open to anything."

And at present Khazri says he is due to report back to Sunderland, where he is still on the books.

"At the moment, I have not received anything so I will be back at my club."

Sunderland snapped up Khazri from French outft Bordeaux in 2016, but loaned him to Rennes last summer following relegation from the Premier League.

They again suffered relegation this term and will be playing League One football next season.
