Ostersund coach Graham Potter has verbally agreed to become the next Swansea manager, but no contract has been signed yet.

Swansea got rid of Carlos Carvalhal after the effervescent Portuguese failed to keep the club in the Premier League despite making a positive start to his time at the Liberty Stadium.




The Welsh club are now preparing for life in the Championship after seven straight seasons in the Premier League and have been on the lookout for a new manager.

And according to Swedish daily Expressen, Swansea have zeroed in on Ostersund coach Potter to take charge of the club before the start of the 2018/19 season in the Championship.
 


The 43-year-old impressed during his interview with the Swansea hierarchy and it has been claimed that he has verbally agreed to become the next manager at the Liberty Stadium.

However, no contract has been signed and Swansea are still to agree a compensation fee with Ostersund who are set to lose Potter, who has been at the club since December 2010.

Potter is expected take his own backroom staff, including his assistant at Ostersund, Billy Reid, and scout Kyle Macaulay to Swansea.

The Englishman took charge of Ostersund when the club were in the fourth tier of Swedish football and they earned promotion to the top division for the first time in their history in 2015.

They played Arsenal in the Europa League in the round of 32 stage where they beat them at the Emirates Stadium 2-1, but went out on a 4-2 aggregate scoreline.
