Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian met Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici in Milan on Wednesday to discuss a transfer, it has been claimed.

Darmian was nothing more than a fringe player for Manchester United in the just concluded season and the club are willing to listen to offers for the Italian this summer.




Juventus have been on the right-back’s tail for several months and the club are hopeful of reaching an agreement with Manchester United for his signature in the ongoing transfer window.

The former Torino man has already given his nod to a move back to Turin and according to Gazzetta dello Sport, the player and his representatives met Juventus sporting director Paratici in Milan.
 


The Juventus deal-maker was spotted with Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata and his agent outside a Milan hotel on Wednesday and Darmian and his entourage were also claimed to be in the same building.

Talks have taken place between his representatives and Juventus, and the Italian champions are hopeful of getting a deal over the line with Manchester United for a fee worth €12m.

Manchester United are expected to spend big on their defence this summer and Darmian is said to be surplus to requirements at Old Trafford.
