Sunderland loanee Wahbi Khazri is yet to make a decision on whether to extend his stay at Rennes beyond the end of the season.

The Tunisian attacker joined the Ligue 1 club on loan from Sunderland last summer after the Black Cats were relegated from the Premier League at the end of last season.

With Sunderland suffering another relegation to League One, Khazri is unlikely to turn out for them next term and is considering future at the moment.

Rennes are desperate to hold on to the player beyond the end of his loan contract, but after scoring nine Ligue 1 goals in the season, Khazri is aware that he is a wanted man.

And according to French sports daily L’Equipe, the player is yet to make any definitive decision on whether to continue at Rennes or look for another destination this summer.

Rennes have kept their door open for negotiations and are waiting for the player to make up his mind about continuing at the club.

Khazri is keen to play Champions League football and is hopeful that after a good season with Rennes, one of the big clubs will come calling for him in the ongoing window.

Sunderland signed Khazri from Bordeaux in 2016 and he scored three goals in 42 appearances for the club.
