Newly promoted Bundesliga outfit Fortuna Dusseldorf are interested in signing Leeds United and Norwich City linked striker Marvin Ducksch.

He spent last season on loan at German tier two side Holstein Kiel, scoring 18 goals in 33 league appearances for the club and it has led to interest from the English Championship.

Leeds were linked with him earlier this year, while recently Norwich are focused on signing the striker this summer, but Ducksch has already made it clear that he would prefer a move to a Bundesliga club in the ongoing window

He is slated to return to St. Pauli in the summer, but there is little chance of him staying and according to German daily Bild, there is interest from a Bundesliga club in the striker.

Fortuna Dusseldorf, who earned promotion to the Bundesliga this season, are interested in taking the 24-year-old striker to the Esprit Arena during the ongoing summer transfer window.

His performances for Holstein Kiel have been duly noted by the Fortuna Dusseldorf recruitment team and the club are looking at Ducksch as an option to beef up their attack ahead of their foray in the top tier.

Fortuna Dusseldorf coach Friedhelm Funkel refused to deny the club’s interest in Ducksch, but stressed he won’t comment on any transfer speculation.

He said: “I don’t want to deny that, but I cannot comment on every rumour or name mentioned.

“We will proceed as per our last three transfer windows and treat everything internally until there is something to announce.”

St. Pauli are claimed to be asking for a transfer fee of around €3m for the transfer of the 24-year-old striker.
