Juventus have the edge in the transfer race for Manchester United and Arsenal midfield target Lorenzo Pellegrini this summer.

The 21-year-old Italian midfielder’s future at Roma has come under the scanner this week after it emerged some of the heavyweights are European football have been keeping tabs on him.




Manchester United have identified him as their possible second midfield signing this summer and Arsenal are interested in taking him to London as they seek a fresh start under Unai Emery.

However, Pellegrini has his suitors in Italy with Juventus always lurking behind Roma for the midfielder and according to Italian daily La Stampa, they are in pole position to sign him.
 


The Bianconeri’s stature means they always hold an edge when it comes to signing young Italian players and Juventus are pushing to take the 21-year-old to Turin.

A product of the Roma academy, the midfielder rejoined the Giallorossi from Sassuolo last summer and his performances in Eusebio Di Francesco’s team have earned him high praise.

He has a release clause of around the €30m mark and Roma are desperate to see him sign a new contract in order to increase or eliminate the problematic terms of his current deal.

Roma sporting director Monchi is expected to meet his agent soon to discuss terms on a new contract.
