Emre Can will undergo a preliminary medical in Germany before moving to Turin to complete the formalities of a free transfer to Juventus this summer.

In all probability Can played his last game in a Liverpool shirt on Saturday night when he came on as a second half substitute in their 3-1 loss to Real Madrid in the Champions League final.

It has been clear for a while that the midfielder won’t be signing a new contract and Juventus have been on his tail for over a year to convince him to move to Italy.

An agreement over a five-year contract has already been in place for some time and Can is expected to travel to Italy later this week to complete the move.

Juventus have already conducted secret medical checks to assess his back injury and according to Gazzetta dello Sport, he will undergo a preliminary medical in Germany soon.

The Italian champions are keen to get the process moving rather than wait for the German to travel to Italy.

Due to Liverpool’s involvement in the Champions league final, a definitive date for Can’s arrival in Turin has not been set yet but he is expected to be in Italy soon.

Can will be earning a salary of around €6m per season once he puts pen to paper on a contract with Juventus.
