A director of Ghanaian top flight side Berekum Chelsea has claimed that Swansea City forward Jordan Ayew could join Celtic this summer, while also insisting that Liverpool have an interest in the Ghana international.

Ayew, 26, could quit the Liberty Stadium following Swansea's relegation from the Premier League to the Championship.

The Ghana international is likely to be a man in demand and Berekum Chelsea director Nana Oduro Sarfo feels that a link up with Brendan Rodgers at Celtic is something Ayew may want to make happen.

But the director claims that Liverpool have also shown interest in snapping up Ayew, something which could mean a Premier League stay for the player.

Oduro, ruling out Ayew remaining at Swansea, was quoted as saying by Ghana Web: "Jordan has had offers from several clubs after Swansea City's relegation last season. He will surely not play in the Championship with them.

"Liverpool has shown interest in him but Scottish side Celtic and their coach seem to be serious with their interest.

"I believe he may go to Scotland looking at how events are unfolding since they want to meet every demand.

"They speak English just like in England so he can express himself well in there and meet the expectations in the league", the director added.

Ayew joined Swansea in 2017 from Aston Villa, but could not help the Swans avoid dropping through the trapdoor this season.

Both Celtic and Liverpool can offer Ayew Champions League football.
