The agent of Chelsea target Robert Lewandowski has revealed that his client wants to leave Bayern Munich and insisted that the club know about the player’s desire.

The striker has been making noises about leaving Bayern Munich for some time, but the German champions have been clear that they won’t be selling their top striker this summer.

But it seems the player is now prepared to push through a move as his agent, Pini Zahavi, has come out into open about the Pole’s desire to leave the Bavarians and stressed that the club are aware that Lewandowski wants a transfer.

He insisted that his client is more interested in a fresh challenge than money or joining any specific club and believes the people in charge of Bayern Munich will understand the situation.

Zahavi told German magazine Sport Bild: “Robert feels that he needs a change and a new challenge in his career.

“Those in charge at Bayern know about it.

“Robert’s motives are not for money or for any specific club as all the best clubs in the world would like to have the best striker in the world in their ranks.

“Everyone in the club hierarchy can boast of a great career.

"They should understand the situation.”

Chelsea have been linked with a move for the player and Zahavi has spoken to three clubs regarding his client’s future.

Paris Saint-Germain are also interested, but the UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations have currently tied their hands in the market.
